Pumpkin Farm Near Me
Gluten Free and Dairy Free Information
At this pumpkin farm near me, be prepared for county fair style food. There are booths set up for funnel cakes, snow cones, kettle corn, and more. So, for those of you with similar gluten free and dairy free restrictions like me come prepared with your own packed lunch. With not only the types of food offered here, but also the buffet serving style, it isn’t really allergy friendly. You can basically only purchase water or soda that’s as far as the allergy friendly goes. There are picnic tables everywhere, so you have a place to sit and eat. Please keep in mind this is a rural area so there isn’t any place nearby to grab a quick bite. If you don’t like this style of food, then you also may want to pack a lunch. We typically always pack a lunch and snacks for the kids just in case, cause with them you just never know.

Fall in Florida
Fall in Florida is sometimes like basically any other month of the year here, very hot, sunny, and buggy. It’s always best when doing an all-day outdoor activity like picking pumpkins that you come prepared for Florida weather. You can read my blog post on my favorite travel accessories that I pretty much bring with me to any day out with the kids. This includes stroller and baby carrier recommendations (selling mine here). The most important items to bring are not only water bottles for the kids, but water bottles for the adults too, as well as sunscreen, and bug spray. These are essential to any Florida day out. We can sometimes have afternoon showers, so check the forecast and if that’s the case a mini umbrella can do the trick because it sometimes doesn’t last very long. We got caught in a little rain the last time we went pumpkin picking too.
Keep in mind when getting dressed for the day that this is a pumpkin patch farm and a petting farm, so be prepared with clothes and shoes that can get dirty, because they will. Although there are hand washing stations located around the premises as well as hand sanitizing stations, I think it’s always good especially with kids to keep hand wipes on hand. If there’s anything I missed or any questions you want to know about preparing for the day here, just leave me a message in the comments below. I’d be happy to help.
Picking Pumpkins
At this pumpkin patch near me, Amazing Grace family farms, it isn’t a u pick pumpkins place where you walk through the actual pumpkin patch where the pumpkins are grown. Here they have a designated area with a display for picking pumpkins to be purchased and for photos. There is no shortage of pumpkins here though. They have all sizes ranging from pumpkins that can fit in the palm of your hand to ones that are so large you may need an extra set of hands to carry it. Pumpkins here range in colors too from orange to white to yellow and even some of those oddly shaped and variously colored gourds. There’s a pumpkin here for everyone, so pick your own pumpkin to take home.
Activities in Autumn
If you are looking for some fun activities in autumn to really experience fall in Florida, then Amazing Grace really has it all. They recently moved locations and added more and more fun activities to do making this such a full and fun day out for the kids.
For the kids (and kids at heart) there’s the cow train to take you on a bumpy ride.
For kids only, there are massive bounce pads and a playground area. They also have a ball area to practice your throw and some games of tug-o-war. For a little water splashing fun, the kids can race their rubber duckies up and down a pipe using an old timey water pump.
And don’t miss the corn pit for another great fall photo opportunity.
Sunflowers Fields
Field of Sunflowers Near Me
The you pick sunflowers season is mainly in the springtime. Amazing Grace family farms plants their sunflowers fields just in time to have some ready for their fall season. So, while you can’t pick the sunflowers, you can walk through this field of sunflowers near me to see them growing. Take some family photos here and when you go back in the spring, you can see how tall they’ve grown. While places like Virginia are known for their fall colors, hot places even in the fall like here in Florida don’t always have the same beautiful color displays. We do have some, like these sunflowers fields. So, enjoy it while you can!
Petting Farm
Amazing Grace also has a petting farm. There are various petting farm pens located around the property with goats, donkeys, pigs, cows, calf, and more. Kids can not only see, but even pet some of the farm animals. We always have fun doing this. Don’t worry for all you clean freaks out there like me, I’ve got you covered. There is a hand washing station nearby (with soap and water) to clean up afterwards for all those with little ones that constantly put their hands in their mouths. They also have hand sanitizing stations located throughout the farm as well and restrooms on the premises too.
Pumpkin Patch with Corn Maze
If you are looking for a pumpkin patch with corn maze, then Amazing Grace crop maze has you covered. Although here the maze is not actually corn, but sorghum. With tall stalks (just like corn) this fun little windy maze is a great activity for families, since it’s not too long to get lost in. It’s just long enough for the kids to enjoy exploring and figuring out how to work your way through. For the small kids, they even have a hay maze. With hay bales lining the way, you can watch as your little one does this maze all by themselves. Just another way to experience fall in Florida.
Fall Photo Shoot
If you want to take some great fall photos with your family then Amazing Grace family farms has you covered for your fall photo shoot. You can choose to have a professional photographer come with you to the farm to capture your families’ big events like birthdays, graduations, or engagement. Or just come prepared with your own camera, tripod, or phone to capture your own sweet fall memories. There are several different photo set ups throughout the farm to take pictures which helps to avoid line forming and crowds. Coming to this pumpkin patch near me year after year, was a great way to document the kid’s growth. So, don’t miss making this pumpkin patch part of your families’ fall tradition.
Fun Things to do in October
October is always my favorite month to travel, and it has typically been when I’ve gone on a lot of my big trips like Australia, Montreal, and Crete. While Amazing Grace family farms has North Florida covered, if you live in Central Florida, I've got you covered there too. You can find one of the largest maze of corn with the craziest designs at Long and Scott Farms in Mount Dora, Florida. Or you can experience another fun fall festival at Amber Brooke Farm in Eustis, Florida.
The fall season is my favorite. It was by far my favorite thing about having lived in Virginia. There are so many fun things to do in October and the weather is so much more favorable to do them. Because most kids are in school at this time of year, many places are not as crowded because this is not their peak season. So, if you are looking at the best times of the year to travel, look at when some of the destinations off seasons are. I bet for most of them, it’s October.
Fun Day Trips in Florida
If you are looking for other fun day trips in North Florida, besides this pumpkin patch near me, then don’t miss out on blackberry picking at Congaree and Penn. You know we love a good u-pick farm and we've found a bunch of them all over Central Florida. We've got blueberry picking, strawberry picking, and even vegetable picking. We've also picked peaches and apples but this was in Virginia and apples at Ochs Orchard in Upstate New York. I’ll be posting even more farms to come.
I’ve lived in Florida for many years and have lived in many cities throughout the state, so if there is a Florida destination you want to hear about, then let me know in the comments below. Our state has so much to offer (even without including the theme parks), and I would love to help you explore those places.
