A fall festival here in Florida may not look like the colored kaleidoscope of trees that fall in the rest of the U.S. is known for. But at Amber Brooke Farm, they definitely keep it fun for kids with lots of things to do and we typically have warmer weather.

Most people think of Florida and equate it with sandy beaches and theme parks. Now while that is true, what is also true is that Florida is actually made up of primarily farmlands and agriculture. Living in Central Florida, we are just that, centrally located. We are close to the beaches, but we have way more farms around us than ocean.
Every year, we are always eager to find new farms in the area that are hosting a fall festival, Christmas festival, or different u-pick days throughout the year. We’ve been to quite a few already. You can read all about them below.
- Cut Your Own Christmas Tree at Santa's Farm and Christmas Tree Forest
- Vegetable Picking & Blueberry Picking at Southern Hill Farms
- U Pick Blackberries Farm at Congaree and Penn
- The Ultimate Maze of Corn at Long and Scott Farms
- Pumpkin Patch Near Me (North Florida) - Amazing Grace Family Farms
- Blueberry Picking at Ever After Farms
- Strawberries U Pick at Oak Haven Farms
This year we decided to try a new farm (new for us that is), Amber Brooke Farm in Eustis, Florida. Atwood Farm was recently rebranded to its new name of Amber Brooke Farms. They have locations in both Eustis, Florida, as well as a location in Williston, Florida too. This blog post is focused on our trip to the Amber Brooke Farm located in Eustis, Florida.

Preparing For Your Day at Amber Brooke Farm
If we are bringing a backpack, then we normally try to keep it as light as possible. Or if we can avoid it altogether we will. Our kids are 3 and 5 now, so we can bring less and less as they get older, but if you've got littler ones than that, then there are some things you can't go without. You can read my travel accessories post for those important items. In Florida though, there are some things you just can't leave the house without like bug spray, sunscreen, sunglasses, water bottles, and comfortable shoes that can get dirty. These are just musts!
Free Activities - Fun for Kids at the Fall Festival
With two kids in tow, it’s always important for us to find places that will keep them busy and having lots of fun. Let me tell you something, there was no shortage of things to do here at Amber Brooke Farm. Everywhere you look was another activity fun for kids to enjoy.
Ball Zone
As you walk in the first thing you will see is the ball zone. Here you can choose from football, basketball, and baseball activities. All the balls are already there, so just hop in the mix and take your shot.
Live Music
Amber Brooke Farm is in a way separated into two levels an upper level and lower level. This area of Central Florida is a rarity because it’s the one place in Florida that is hilly. Otherwise, you’ll find that most of Florida is very flat. As you move past the ball zone, you’ll see the large pavilion for hosting live music. You can sit and enjoy the show close up, or you can just listen to the music in the background as you enjoy walking around the fall festival.
Candy Cannon
They purposefully left a huge grassy field open right in the middle of all the activities that are fun for kids, because they needed room for the candy cannon. At a few times throughout the day, you will hear a blowhorn which signals that it’s time for the candy cannon. “What is that?” you may be asking. Well, it’s just like it sounds. Be prepared to catch candy as it falls from the sky. Such a fun idea and the kids loved it. The adults do too, which means that sometimes you may walk away without candy. I think we only caught two pieces total. One for each kid, thankfully. But it was still super fun to be a part of!
Playground
Near the live music, you will find a beautiful playground area. There is what looks like a kid size house attached by a bridge to a tower with a swirly slide. Next to that are wooden tractors for climbing, playing, hiding, and sliding. The kids had so much fun climbing up the ladders and going down the slide.
Bubble Barn
Right in front of the playground is the bubble barn or bubble station. There are at least 8 buckets of bubble solution and bubble wands that basically look like jump ropes. They used these because they make the biggest bubbles ever. They also make a big mess, so be prepared to get somewhat wet and sticky from bubbles popping on you.
Jump Pad
As we move along from the playground, next comes the jump pad. Here you will find actually two jump pads. One small one specifically designated for the little ones/toddlers and then a very large one for the bigger ages. The jump pads are huge, so there is hay bale seating all around for the adults to take a break while the kids bounce all their energy out.
Corn Hole and Connect Four
Over by the covered seating area, you’ll find some corn hole sets and large connect four games situated there. They are in the shade so perfect for a break from the heat or if you are just hanging out eating your lunch or snack.
Spiderweb
Let the kids channel their inner Spidey senses and spend some time climbing the ropes.
Sandbox
Next, we have the sandbox. But this isn’t your ordinary small turtle sandbox. Here there is a sand area outfitted with about 5 diggers fun for digging and a bunch of tractor tires for climbing through.
Steel Barrel Roll
In the middle of the open field, you’ll find the steel barrel roll. Prepare to get dizzy as your family or friends roll you up or down the hill.
Maze
Before heading down to the lower level for more fall festival activities there, get lost in the maze.
Slide
As we make our way down towards the lower level of the fall festival activities, you’ll see a huge slide with 4 lanes built into the hill. At the bottom grab your burlap sack from the wooden box and make your way up the stairs. Be sure your shoes especially are on the burlap sack as you slide down, so you don’t stop short.
If you get a chance, pause at the top to take in the beautiful aerial views of Amber Brooke Farm.
Corn Silo
Just under the slide is the corn silo. There are actually a few silos on the property, but this is the smallest one and happens to be basically like a sandbox but filled with corn. The kids absolutely had a blast in there, just swimming around in the corn. There is a list of dont's posted out front which included no throwing corn. Not that any of the kids listened (or adults for that matter), so make sure the kids stay safe in there.
Cow Train
Just outside the corn silo, you’ll see where the line starts for the cow train. The line can get quite long and the wait even longer. If you see a point where the line is short, then get there as fast as you can so you don’t miss a ride. Both kids and adults can enjoy this silly cow train tractor ride around the Amber Brooke Farm.
Duck Races
Last, but certainly not least are the duck races which you can find in between the petting zoo and the pumpkin buying area. With rubber duckies already there, at the ready, pump that water pump as fast as you can to see who wins the duck race.
Paid Activities at the Fall Festival
While most of the activities at Amber Brooke Farm come included with your admission ticket, there are a few fall festival activities that cost a little bit extra. So, I’ve listed them separately here.
Gem Mining
For gem mining, the cost depends on the size of the pay load of dirt you are trying to purchase. And the size of dirt also depends on how many people are going to be participating. There is plenty of space to enjoy mining here once you do choose your pay load amount. You can also check out my blog post on Disney’s Fort Wilderness which is another fun place we’ve gone gem mining.
Amber Brooke Farm Aviary
The aviary is filled with tons of parakeets. You can see them from the outside for free, but if you want to go into the aviary and feed them, then that’s when you’ll be paying a fee. My blog post on Sea World’s Discovery Cove is coming soon which had an amazing aviary to feed tons of different birds.
Amber Brooke Farm Petting Zoo
Cost: Free
Additional Fee is only required for feeding the animals, getting one on one pictures, as well as for an individual horseback ride.
You may be thinking if you’ve been to one petting zoo then you’ve been to them all, but not here. Believe it or not, there were animals that you wouldn’t normally see in a typical petting zoo present here. One of which was a camel. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a camel before up close let alone been able to pet it. They also had a kangaroo, and it’s been a while since I’ve been up close to one of those. Not since I visited Featherdale Wildlife Park in Australia.
Amber Brooke Farm Photo Spots
As it’s commonly said on the internet, “If you didn’t take a picture, then it didn’t happen.” Now while that is not true, it’s always nice to have photos to capture all the memories of the day. Amber Brooke Farm was prepared for this, because there are tons of photo spots located all over the property.
If you are wanting to do a family, graduation, or couples professional photo shoot, then that is a little different. For those you do have to pay a separate fee. You can read all the details regarding professional photography directly on their website.
Amber Brooke Farm Store
As you first walk in on the path to where all the fall festival activities are, you’ll see a very large silo welcoming you. That silo happens to be the Amber Brooke Farm gift shop. Inside you’ll find lots of local treats like jams, jellies, dressings, nuts, baked goods, wines, honeys, and more. You’ll find a few different kinds of toys for the kids as well as some apparel like shirts, hats, and such. Before you leave, don’t forget to pick up a bottle of blueberry soda (both gluten free and dairy free, win win).
Fall Festival Food
Amber Brooke Farm doesn’t allow outside food or drink. Thankfully, we ate lunch before we came, so we didn’t need to eat anything while at the fall festival. If you do get hungry, there were 4 different food trucks present and Amber Brooke Farm also had their own 2 booths set up. One served wine and such and the other sold snacks like popcorn, chips, soda, and water. There is also a covered area with plenty of picnic bench seating for if you do have to eat while you are there. Or if you just need a break from the sun. Unfortunately, there was NO gluten free or dairy free offerings at all, so be sure to plan ahead for that. Either by eating before you come like I did, eating in the car, or heading nearby to eat.
The Salted Fry
Afterwards, we headed to the nearby town of Mount Dora to try out a local 100% dedicated gluten free eatery called The Salted Fry. Mmmmm, it was so good. The staff were very knowledgeable on what items were also dairy free, egg free, vegan, and so on. I never got sick from the food. It’s a very small place, so be sure to have your water bottles already filled. They didn’t have a way to fill them up other than with tap water, but you can purchase water bottles if you need them. If you have a sweet tooth like me, then be sure to purchase a pie to take home with you too.
Pumpkin Smashing
Did you know that the second Saturday of November is National Pumpkin Destruction Day? Well, Amber Brooke Farm gets in on this action by dedicating the entire day at the farm to games and activities focused on the smashing of the pumpkins. But if you can't visit during the fall, then check out their website for other seasons of activities.
Have you been to Amber Brooke Farm yet? If you are adding it to your list of fall festivals to visit, then please let me know in the comments. If there’s a fun farm that I haven’t been to yet, please let me know, so I can be sure to add it to my travel list.
