Topolino’s Terrace (as is the Italian name for Mickey Mouse) is their roof restaurant at the top of Disney’s Riviera Resort which is one of the newest deluxe villa resorts to join Lake Buena Vista. Located on the rooftop terrace and completely encompassed with windows, you are afforded a bird’s eye view of some great Disney hot spots. As part of its Disney Vacation Club charm, a Welcome Home sign greets you at the door.

Disney Transportation
Located in Epcot’s resort area, it’s also one of the stops on Disney’s new gondola system, the Skyliner. But it can be reached by personal vehicle or Disney’s bus transportation too. Or as Roman likes to call it, the Mickey bus. As with most Walt Disney World resorts, if coming with a personal vehicle then a dining reservation is needed in order to be admitted onto the property by security. As you drive up, you are immediately transported to Europe seeing this magnificent hotel.
Disney Character Dining
As you’re being transported to the Riviera, so are your favorite characters. Topolino's character breakfast has every detail in usual Disney character dining fashion, well thought out. Donald is the sculptor. With a chisel in his pocket, he’s ready to create the next great work of art. Daisy is the ballerina. Dressed in her tutu, she’s ready to get everyone dancing. Minnie is the writer. With a feather pen in her hat and journal in her pocket, she’s ready to write about all the beautiful memories shared that day. Mickey Mouse is the artist and he has the paint splatters to prove it. Mickey was so kind and sat down on the floor with my kids to visit with them. Roman was too excited that Mickey was near him to look at the camera. He wanted to make sure Mickey knew he had to clean his clothes, because they were dirty.
Topolino’s Character Breakfast
While the restaurant is open other times of the day, the characters are only there in the morning. You’ll see character coordinator cast members walking around to ensure that each table has one on one time with each character. So, there’s no waiting lines and plenty of picture or video opportunities. Dining is a la carte from the menu, however because it’s a flat fee you can order as many entrees as you want. Whereas, the drink menu is a separate and different charge. Although their signature fruit juice is complementary and delicious. Once seated, Topolino's character breakfast has every detail carried out even in the tableware. Such as paint brush spreaders, paint palettes for dips, and paint buckets for bread.
Allergy Friendly Restaurant
Gluten Free and Dairy Free
Egg Free
If you are eating at any Disney location, food allergies are taken very seriously. There are many allergy friendly restaurants at Disney that have a separate kitchen area with which to prepare allergy friendly meals. While the server can provide you with general food allergy friendly menu, the chef can and should be requested for any detailed discussion. In fact, I almost always request the chef. They can review any specific allergies you may have, but they also can provide you with other alternatives to the menu items that may not be listed. In addition, they can also make special entrees to meet your dietary needs/preferences.
Roman had an egg allergy and I have both a gluten and dairy intolerance. So, the chef was able to make a special egg free breadbasket just for Roman as well as a gluten free and dairy free one just for me, separate from the ones provided to the rest of the table. We were also able to eat a delicious breakfast tailor made to fit our dietary needs. If you need allergy friendly restaurant recommendations, we love Olivia's Cafe at Old Key West Resort too.
Disney Riviera Resort
Roof Restaurant - Topolino's Terrace
Topolino's Terrace is one of the very few roof restaurants at Disney. So, after we ate, we walked out onto the terrace to see the panoramic views. From the top, you can see Disney’s Swan and Dolphin resorts, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, the Tower of Terror ride, the new Skyliner gondola, Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life, and much more. If the weather is nice, this is a relaxing way to spend a little bit of time with family and friends. There are tables, chairs, and couches to just hang out. From the top, you can also see all the amenities this hotel offers. Pool, fire pit, walking path, life-size chess board, porch swings, and a large grassy lawn for children’s activities.
We’ll definitely be coming back to this amazing character breakfast again! Have you been to Topolino’s Terrace yet? If not, what is your favorite Disney dining location? Don't miss my newest blog post all about Fort Wilderness. You can also read about my gluten free guide to Montreal and Jekyll Island, Georgia. This sounds like a perfect place for the kiddies to have breakfast with the Disney characters to entertain them throughout.
Yes. It was so great. I’ll definitely be back there again.
Usually, eating around mice is not what you dream of 😉 It’s so sweet to see how the kids enjoyed the rodents’ company 😀 The musli looks good and, of course, the Mickey-shaped pastry.
Haha. Yes! I’ll have to send you a picture from when we dined at Chefs de France in Epcot. Remy from Ratatouille comes to your table on a cheese platter.
What a fun place with family! Love the Mickey French toast.
It was! The best 😉
