Orlando Ice Den

- Cost: Ages 3 and up

Florida is known for it’s year round summer season which means summer temperatures AKA very hot weather. So, what better way to cool off (pun intended) then visiting one of the coldest indoor things to do in Orlando, the Orlando Ice Den. The Orlando Ice Den has public skating almost every day of every week all year long. You can check their website for the monthly public skate schedules.
The Orlando Ice Den isn’t your rinky-dink rink either, this is an Olympic sized rink for skating. This size is great if you have little ones, because you won’t feel so crowded by people especially if you are just teaching your kids to skate for the first time. If you live in the area, you can also sign up for ice skating lessons of all kinds for all different age groups, or you can sign up for hockey lessons as well.

At Dr. Phillips Center (for short) is where you’ll find your theatrical performances either via local or traveling troupe. In this new state of the art building that was completed in 2014, you’ll find multiple theaters and halls ready to host you for some amazing musical, dance, comedy, and theatrical performances. - A Harrowing Escape
Whether you’re an escape room aficionado or a newbie, Orlando is a goldmine for this fun and exhilarating problem-solving pastime. There is more than a dozen Escape Rooms to choose from within Orlando, each having multiple themed rooms to try your luck at. If you’re new to the idea of escape rooms, don’t be scared! Here’s the lowdown: first, you pick a theme: most offer rooms with fun themes like Prison Break, The Heist (in an art museum), The Depths (submarine), or Mission Mars (on a space station). Once you pick your theme, you and your team (this is a game best played with a group) are escorted into your room where you must solve your way out in a set amount of time. A series of clues and tasks need to be solved to unlock the door and win the game. This is such a fun and unique indoor thing to do in Orlando. It’s also a great way to spend a few hours with family putting each other’s skills to the test!
Bowling and Arcades
- AMF Sky Lanes
- Kings Dining & Entertainment
- Icon Park (Indoor Arcade Section)
- Fun Spot America (Indoor Arcade Section)
Whether you can bowl a perfect game or are just trying to keep it out of the gutter, everyone has fun on the lanes. AMF Sky Lanes is a bowling alley and arcade that offers combo packages and deals on their website that are worth checking out.

ICON Park is home to Madame Tussauds, SEA Life aquarium, and the Orlando Eye Ferris wheel – but it also has a great indoor arcade.
Fun Spot America has a ginormous (10,000 sq. ft.) indoor arcade that would be the perfect cure for a rainy day in Orlando.
Shopping
- Orlando Fashion Square
- The Mall at Millenia
- The Florida Mall
The Mall at Millenia is Orlando’s premiere shopping center. Luxury brands like Neiman Marcus, Tiffany & Co, Dior, Hermes, Gucci, and so many more are on the top floor. With mall staples like Gap, H&M, Aritzia and Fabletics sprinkled in. The ground floor offers popular options like Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, Urban Outfitters, and Williams-Sonoma. The mall is HUGE and you (and I!) could easily spend a whole day there.
The Florida Mall is less high-end, but is also attached to a hotel and conference center, making it convenient for guests to go on a shopping spree. The Florida Mall is also home to the Crayola Experience and not far from other popular but outdoor attractions like Gatorland and the Orlando Watersports Complex.
Orlando Fashion Square has a much more low key vibe with less hustle and bustle, but some mall staples like Macy’s, and of course a food court and movie theatre. One can never go wrong beating the elements in the mall and Florida offers some amazing retail therapy for every type of customer.

Orlando Fire Museum

- Cost: Free
From 1926-1978 the fire station that the museum inhabits was originally in a completely different location. In 1973 when the new Station 3 was built, the museum was also rebuilt and restored. The outside of the building was painstakingly put back together brick by brick, while the inside was renovated to become the fire museum as we know it now. To tour the fire museum, you must schedule a tour in advance (you can do so by calling, or filling out a form online) and once there prepare to be wowed at the deep history of the firefighters in Orlando (multi generations of firefighters in the same family) and children will love hearing all about what firefighters do in a day on the job.
